"REFORM-LIBERAL SHAM FIGHT."
The candid view was expressed by Mr J. A. Young (Waikato) in the' House of Representatives last night that in his opinion the time had arrived when the sham fight between the Liberal and Reform Parties should stop. When the Prime Minister returned from the Imperial Conference he hoped an endeavour would be made to bring about a union between these two parties, and so let the- Labour Party fill its real function of being the Opposition, in Parliament. Neither the Liberal nor Reform Parties appeared to him to have suffered enough, adversity yet to bring them to a true appreciation of the position. "This sort of thing can't go on," said Mr. Young. If these two parties can't unite/then 'the sooner wo pass electoral reform and •go to the country the better it. will be. The present position is very bad for the country, and should b e ended."
