LIGHT AEROPLANE CONTEST

PARIS, 16th July. Eight started in the "motor-glider" Grand Prix, for a prize of 100,000 francs. Coupet was the only competitor to finish ; he covered 200 miles at an average speed of 51 miles an-hour. Barbot withdrew owing to engine trouble.

. "Motor-glider" is the inaccurate term applied to the new class of aeroplane fitted with very small engines. The term glider is properly applied to machines which have no engines.
