BOY SCOUTS

RESUSCITATION CAMPAIGN.

Strenuous efforts are at present being made to resuscitate the Boy Scout movement in Wellington. With this object, Sir Alfred Pickford, Overseas Commissioner for Boy Scouts, is visiting Wellington next week. At the moment many are realising the necessity of paying as much attention as possible to our boys, a»d the Rotary Club has decided to concentrate on the Boy Scout movement for twelve months.

In connection with next week's activities. Sir Alfred Pickford will arrive from the South at 7 o'clock on Tuesday morning, and there will be a specially selected Guard of Honour of local Scouts. At midday he will be accorded a civic reception by the Mayor, and those in authority in the movement expect^ a large gathering of those interested in boys. At 7.30 p.m. J^ere will be a rally of all troops, including thoise from Hutt and Petone, at the V.M.C.A., when there will be an inspection a.nd address. Immediately afterwards scoutmasters will meet Sir Alfred. On the following day (Wednesday) there will be a rally of Scouts and schoolboys at the Town Hall for an address and picture display.
