OPOTIKI, 15th June. A heavy list of criminal cases was dealt with in the Police Court, before Mr. Kenrick, S.M. Fifteen youths were fined from £3 to £5 for breaking into a hall after a- soldiers' dinner and destroying food. Each youth was ordered to pay a proportion of the damage. For theft, two Maoris were fined. £10 each. Erin Parkinson, for using a motor-car without permission, was fined £10. Four Maoris -were fined from £2 to £3 for disorderly conduct, and another Maori wag fined £5 for obscene language.'
