Bij? Ben's clock may hold the record for general dimensions, but Ben himself is far from being the biggest bell in the world. Moscow's 220-ton bell hardly counts, since it is broken and useless, but the same oity boasts one of 110 tons, and others of 87, 28, and 17 tons. Russia's heaviest uncracked bell, that at Trotzkoi, weighs 171 tons; equal to 13 Big Bens. Great Paul holds tho English record of 16_tous, but this is -beaten by bolls in China, Japan, Austria, Germany, France, Spain, and Portugal. St. Paui's hourbell is a. midget of littlo over five tout, and, curiously enough, St. Peter's in Koaie is content with a saven-tou ball.
