ENTERTAINING SAILORS.
The Wellington branch of the British and Foreign Sailors' Society during last week entertained men from the ships in port as follows:—On Wednesday evening a social was tendered to the men of the Port Caroline and Paparoa. Songs and games were indulged in, and supper was handed round, the men thoroughly enjoying themselves. A vote of thanks was passed to the ladies and secretary of the society. On Saturday the men from the Opawa were taken for a motor drive to Moonshine Valley, and on return were given, tea and entertained at a social evening, when songs, part songs, and recitations, together with various games, were the order of the evening. A vote of thanks was passed to the hon. miEsioner, Mr. M'Callum, and also to. the ladies of the committee. On Sunday a large number of men from the Opawa and Mahia sat down to tea, after which a song and Gospel service was held.
