A POINT FOR THE FULL COURT,

The Full Bench of the Supreme Court —the Chief Justice (Sir Robert Stout), Mr. Justice Hosking, Mr. Justice Herdman, Mr. Justice Salmond, and Mr. Justice Rce3—was engaged to-day in hearing a case, Andrew Brown v. the Solici-tor-General. The action was taken to determine whether compensation' to be paid to European lessees of land that had been ceded to the Crown by the Native freehold owners should be assessed by; the Native .Land: Court ;or the ordinary : Compensation Court. The point had reference to certain lands adjoining Lakes Rotorua - and- Rotoiti. •

Mr. M. H.. Hampson appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr. J. Prendeville for the Solicitor-General.

After hearing argument, the Court reserved its decision.
