TUHI TO DIE

DEATH SENTENCE TO BE CARRIED OUT DECISION OF EXECUTIVE COUNCIL (It TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) DUNEDIN, This Day. An Executive Council was held by, the Governor-General this morning to determine finally whether the death sentence on John Tuhi for the murder of Herbert Henry Knight should be carried into effect. At a full meeting of Cabinet in Wellington recently, after careful consideration of the Judge's report of the evidence, it was decided that Cabinet could find no reason why the sentence should not be carried into effect. At this morning's Executive Meeting Lord Jellicoe concurred in the advice tendered by Cabinet, and it was accordingly determined that the sentence be carried into effect.
