ALLEGED BURGLARY

CHARGES- OF RECEIVING.

Three young men, Henry Stephen Gradwell, John Ryan, and Charles Horace Sivwright/Barry, apeared before Mr! E. Page, S.M., at the Magistrate's Court to-day,- Gradwell charged with, breaking and entering the Dunlop Rubber Company and stealing ( four motor tyros valued at £36 18b, and the other two defendants each charged with receiving a roll of tweed, the property of Milligan and Company from the 1 accused Gradwell, knowing it to have ,been dishonestly obtained.

Chief-Detective Kemp applied for a remand for one week in each case, intimating that he would then be ready to proceed with the prosecution. • Mr. C. A. L. Treadwell applied.,for, bail on behalf of Gradwell, but this was objected to by tho Chief-Detective, who : stated_ that five or six other charges . of a similar nature, involving something m the region of £700, were pending. ' •All three were accordingly remanded ! for one week. Bail was not allowed in' the case of Gradwell, but it was renewed in the sum of £100 in the case of each ' of the other defendsunts. Mr. A. B. Sievwright appeared for 'Barry.
