A TRIBUTE
It was.intended that-the bronze palm which was brought from France by Admiral Gilly should be placed by him, in the name of the President of the French Republic, on the national monument to New Zealanders who fell in the Great War. As such a monument has not yet been erected, it was decided by the Admiral to formally hand the palm to the Prime Minister, to he kept in safe custody until a national memorial is erected.
