' APPELLANT SUCCESSFUL.

The Tramway Appeal Board, consisting of Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M., and Messrs. Ronayne and Hobbs, met yesterday to consider the case of James Roach, formerly a fireman employed by the City Corporation, and recently dismissed. The defence set up by Mr. H. V. O'Leary, on behalf of the ex-employee, was that Roach was not 1 drunk on the day in question. '

.After heaving the evidence, the board stated that, there was no evidence to prove that the appellant "was drunk while on duty, although the engineer responsible for his dismissal maf have honestly believed' that such was, the case. .The appeal, accordingly, was upheld. . * "•
