CIVIC RECEPTION TO FAMOUS ASTRONOMER

■■Dr.'W. W; Campbell, director of the Lick Observatory, who will arrive in Wellington to-morrow, will be accorded a civic reception by the Mayor at the .Concert Chamber, Town Hall, on Monday afternoon, at 3 o'clock. It is anticipated that the Government will be represented by a member of the Ministry. The public are invited to attend the. reception. .

Dr. Campbell will give a public lecture on "The EarthY Place Anioni the Stars," nt the Dominion Farmers' Institute on Monday evening. On Tuesday he wilJ leave for Sydney, on the way to Wallal, whero he will conduct the operations of the Eclipse Expedition.
