EMPRESS THEATRE.

Kazan," adapted from James Oliver Curwood's thrilling narrative'of the same name, opened a week's season at the Empress Theatre to-day. It is a William N. Selig production with Jane Novak' m the leading role. It is a gripping tale of a great malemute dog named "Kazan," who becomes a killer following the murder of his master. He is the enemy of all mankind .until he comes, into contact with beautiful Joan Radissbn, who. befriends him and sets him free from his brutal surroundings. He joins a wolf pack, becomes its leader, and has an opportunity while leading the pack to show his appreciation to the one who befriended him when the wolves swoop down on the girl and a man trekking through the- wilds of the great/ snow country. He fighte off the pack in what is a most thrilling scene. Twice more he saves this same girl, but on these occasions it is from a hitman wolf. Another important announcement is the opening of the new Selznick super serial, "The' Blue Fox," starring Ann Little. "The Blue Fox" is credited with being not only sensational but probable, a statement which many will appreciate. There. is also another Sherlock Holmes adventure', a full complement of big supports, and the Empress Distinctive Orchestra ' under 'Mr. H. G. Avery,'conductor.
