PARAMOUNT AND ARTCRAFT.

"Charming'of the' North West," featuring Eugene O'Brien, now showing at Paramount and Artcraft Theatres, is a stirring story of life in North West Canada.' It is the story of an Englishman who seeks distraction as a solace to a disappointing love affair. Before he came to Canada, he lived the life of a leisured London gentleman.- It was in London that he f_ll in love with Cicily Varden, a pretty dancer in the Gaiety Revue. But when Cicily discovered that Ohanning was not to inherit his uncle's fortune, she broke off the engagement between them. That meant Canada and the North-west Mounted for the suave, polished Charming. It meant adventure and. life and love for Channirig. "Love's Masquerade" is a powerful drama in which Conway Tearle takes the lead. Love and adventure abound in the story. Robert Carr becomes involved in a love affair with the vivacious Mrs.: Norwood. Preparation .is made for an elopement; when at the eleventh hour Carr repents, and informs. Mrs. Norwood that he has changed his mind. Then -follows a series of exciting scenes, in which a woman's jealousy and hate play conspicuous parts. A scenic, a comedy, and a gazette are included in the programme: Capable orchestras supply special music at both theatres.
