HOSPITAL BOARD
BUSINESS AT MONTHLY MEETING.
The monthly: meeting of the Welling-, ton Hospital Board was held yesterday afternoon. The chairman (Mr. F. Castle) presided, and those present' were: Messrs. J. iW. Butler, C. H. Chapman, W. T. Cotton, Rev. J. K. Elliott, Dr. W. E. Herbert, A. R. Hornblow, C. M. Luke, A. J. M'Curdy, J... W. M'Ewen, G. Petherick, Rev. H. Van Staveren, E. Vine, 12. Windley, and' Mrs. Snow. .Leave of absence was granted Mrs. M'Vicar and Messrs. J. Glover and G. Nash. .-..'• The accounts were passed for payment:— Hospital •'salaries, £3451' 8s lid; Macarthy Home, £93 3s 7d; sundry, £3.05 lie 3d. Social Welfare and1, Ohiro Home: Salaries, £977 lis lid; sundry, £141 Ss; 2d. Head office: Salaries. £140 14s Id; sundry, £62 0s 9d. District Nurse, £17 le Sd. Total, £8490 Os 4d. The return for tho month showed receipts of £15;250 Is -4d. and' expenditure of £9300 8s 2d. . ■-..' The following recommendations of the Finance, Property, and; Policy Committee were approved:"— 'V ■ . '.''" ' That advice has been received from the Public Trustee that the Governors :of the T. G. Macarthy Trust _ were unable to render any . further assistance for tho Macarthy Home for Convalescent Child; -ren.. Helling. ' . That Mr. G. A. Troup, railway archij tect, and Mr. J. M.' Morice assistant city engineer/be associated with the sub-com-mittee (Messrs. Caetle, Luke, and tho Medical Superintendent) to arrange details in connection ' with the proposed play aroa for children. That the resignation of Mr. M. L. Smith, clerk, bo accepted with regret, and tho appointment of Mr. J. B. I. Cook (vice Mr. Smith) bo confirmed. That the quarterly returns and estimates and receipts and payments for tho month be adopted. Mr. J. W. M'EwciTwas appointed to the Finance and Property' Committee,;»nd | Dr. Herbert to a vacancy on tho Social Welfare Committee.
