COMMUNITY SINGING
Tho Courtenay-place "sinp" was well patronised this' afternoon. Mr. Lambert, the leader, appeared quite at homo in his business, and kept the'audience in a good humour. He was ably assisted by Messrs. . James ' Searle and .H. E. Wilson. A boy soprano, Master Phillips, contributed a solo, and was loudly applauded.
The Fire Brigade received a call at 12.20 p.m. to-day to'the Boulcott Chambers, Bouleott-street, where an cnitbreak had occurred in a room on the second floor, occupied by M. Wolfe. The services of the brigade were not required, as the fire was extinguished by some of the occupant;? of the building. The con-, tente of the room were damaged.
