COMMUNITY "SING"

Notwithstanding the unfavourable weather, there was a large attendance at the community "sing" at the Town Hall to-day. Mr..Silver was leader, and Mrs. Albert Russell accompanied on the piano. Several choruses wera rendered by a number of children from the Free Kindergarten School. The children entered singing "Pack up Your Troubles," and subsequently they led in other simple choruses in good style. Altogether, the meeting was most successful. .The collection amounted to £25.

The • weekly community sing at the Dominion Farmers' Institute this afternoon, .was attended by a very large gathering, and was in every way thoroughly successful. Mr. F. G. Twiss acted as (leader of the singing, and Mr. H. E. Wilson was pianist. Both sang solos, and the success of the gathering was very largely due to their excellent leadership.
