MUNICIPAL MILK DEPARTMENT. DELIVERIES OF MILE, CREAM, ■■ ' ... -ETC. :, •■ THE Public of Wellington City and Suburbs, who hitherto have been supplied with Milk and. Cream from the various Vending Companies licensed by the Wellington City Council, are hereby notified that the Council will assume complete control o£ all deliveries o£ such Milk and Cream, both wholesale and retail, as from SUNDAY, 9th July. The necessary machinery having been installed,' all retail supplies of Milk will be delivered in bottles, subject to there being no unforeseen difficulties in the working of the washer, bottling, and capping machines, but to provide against possible disappointment householders will require to leave in position, as heretofore, their receptacles, such to be put out over night in the event of deliveries being made earlier than usual. MILK. . Milk may be obtained from ROUNDSMEN in sealed bottles only of each Ipint, l£-pint, and 1-quart capacity in exchange for coupons. Roundsmen are POSITIVELY FORBIDDEN to sell Milk for cash. CREAM. Cream may be obtained' from ROUNDSMEN in sealed carboard cups of i-pint, jpint, and 1-pint capacity,l the prices to be, until further notice, respectively 6d, Is, and 2s per cup. Householders are earnestly requested, to purchase and submit cream coupons to Roundsmen in exchange for cream, but cash may be tendered in the event of householders not having provided themselves with cream coupons. , If cream is required on any day, all that is necessary for customers is to leave oat a cream coupon or coupons or cash equivalent to the quantity of cream required. BOTTLES. , ; A supply of bottles,. equivalent to the regular daily requirements of Milk, will be issued to each customer FREE OF COST on the understanding- that later, should a bottle be broken or cracked, cash equivalent, to the cost of a new bottle must be tendered along with the coupon before any fresh supply of milk can be obtained from the Roundsman, the cost of replaced bottles being as follows: — 1 pint. li pint. 1 quart. 4deach 6d each 8d each Customers are advised to purchase ;an extra bottle or bottles for the purpose of obtaining extra supplies required at any time, but these l-ottles can only be supplied after the first day on which the free issue of bottles has been made, for the reason that' no extra bottles can be carried on the delivery vans on this day. All bottles must be thoroughly rinsed in warm water before being returned to the Roundsman. Customers are requested to note' the following advantages bf having milk supplied in bottles:— The filling and capping process, being done by automatic machinery, the possibility jof contamination is entirely eliminated, and no dirt can enter the milk once the bottle has been capped and sealed. ' Exact measure to the householder is ensured. All bottles are thoroughly cleansed and sterilised before being refilled. | . COUPONS.
