THE CHILDREN'S APPEAL
FRIDAY'S STREET DAY;
"Help the Kiddies," is the slogan for Friday next, when the street day, for the purpose of raising funds for the play area, to be established in front of the Hospitals will take place. A great deal of enthusiasm is being 6hown not only by the citizens of Wellington, but by the ' country districts .as well. Goods for sale on the stalls are ready to hand from Rotorua and, other places as far north as Auckland, and given a .fine day, the' effort is sure, to make a special appeal to the generosity of the public. In connection with the street day, a procession of school children will march from Veitch and Allan's corner to the Post Office-square, headed by the Boys' Institute Band, where a community sing will take place at 12.30. Another sing will be held in the King's Theatre at the same time. Some rearrangement of the stalls has been necessary, and the following are the st-all-nolders :—Post Office-square, Mesdames Gilmour and Paxton, and Ngaio and K,handallah.i ladies (Mesdames Chatwin and- Lynneberg); Lambton Station, Mrs. Dunbar Sloane; Public Trust Office, Mrs. T. Grant; Woodward-street, Mrs. W. A. Parton; Kirkcaldie and Stains, Mrs. G. A. Troup; Kelbnrn Tram Avenue, the Kelburn Croquet Club; Post Office, Mrs. G. E. Brown; Bank'of New Zealand,' Mrs. G. Bell; Boulcott-street, Mrs. C. H. Chapman; Cuba-street and Manners-street, Mrs. W. D. Stewart; Cuba-street and Ghuz-nee-street, Mesdames Hempton and Talbot; Courtsnay-place, Mesdames Adair and Niven; Riddiford-street, Mrs. Vine,- top Kelburn tram, Mesdames Tait and Hollis.'
