This morning's sitting of the Magistrate's Court was brief. One first-offend-' ing inebriate was ordered by Mr, F. K. Hunt, S.M., to forfeit his bail (10s) for not appearing, and Carl Julius Olsen, who admitted being intoxicated yesterday, was fined ss, in default 24 hours. Olsen was further charged with resistingConstable Rose, but as he pleaded not guilty he was remanded-on this charge till Monday. j
'The Y.M.C-.A. course of public speaking will commence at the V.M.C.A. next Thursday, at 8 o'clock, when Mr. O. C. Mazengarb will take lesson 1 in the textbooks. All who intend taking up the course are asked to enrol before that date.
