NEW YORK, 7th July. Outbreaks of violence in various, centres marked the end of the first-.week of the railway strike. At Chicago- a mob, including many women, attacked the homes of loyal workers, and attempted to bum the buildings. The police drove them off.

The Governors of Alabama, Kansas, Missouri, and lowa have been requested to send troops to the towns where mob violence is feared.
