STATE MINES DEADLOCK

GREYMOUTH, 7th July.
The deadlock bver knocking-off time continues at the State mines, conferences of minora ,with-the management having proved ineffective. The former arc asking for 25 minutes' wall-ins: time, and the latter have stipulated 20 miuutes. The union, at a meeting to-day, by a two-to-one majority, decided to stand by their demand. The mines have now been idle for a week.
