The fascinating " Maid of the Mountains," as produced by the JVC. Williamson Comic Opera Company, made another strong appeal to a crowded audience at the Grand Opera House last evening. With its magnificent staging, strong castj charming music, and bright and sparkling humour, the play is one that can never fail to please, and last night's audience was no exception to the rule, ; applauding, vociferously Owing to Miss Gladys Mbncrieff having been obliged to leave for Sydney suddenly, on- account of the' illness of her father v Miss .; Shiela Gale filled the role of Teresa, and proved a most charming maid, earning the highest praise. She is the possessor of a good soprano!voice, and is a clevev actress who is familiar with the role, having played the part of Teresa in England for two years.
