Five-Eighths is the only place-getter in the Silverstream Handicap engaged in the Muritai Handicap, run over the same distance. Angelo, who was not among the runners on Thursday, and All Cerise may run well. ' The distance of the Autumn Handicap, one mile and three furlongs, will suit Marqueteur and Gasbag better than the Thompson, also Insurrection and Martial Dawn. Rapine, Gold Light, and Lucius, placegetters in the'Plunket Nursery, are in the Pacific Handicap, run over a furlong longer journey. Rapine has gone up 121b, arid the other pair meet him on 71b and 101b better terms respectively. The Dunedin Champagne Stakes winner, Area, who Tan a good race with Rational in the Challenge Stakes, may hold the Hawkes Bay contingent. The field, for the Trentham Gold Cup will be a small one, but if Amythas, Kick Off, and Winning Hit go to the post tho race should be a good one.
