ROAD RACE
A revival of the one-time popular roadraoo is now assured, the Wellington Centre of the. N.Z. Amateur Athletic Association having decided to hold the event on Saturday, Ist October. The • conditions are, briefly: —The race ifl open to any bona fide amateurs; the distance to be run. is about seven mile's; teams to consist of five men. the fiTst four home to count for the shield. The course will be. from the- Star Boating: Shed through Wakefield-street, Kent-terrace, east side of Basin Reserve, Adelaide-road, Riddiford and Constablestreet, -Welington-road, Evans Bay, Oriental -Bay, Clyde-quay, Wakefield-street, then to Star Boating Shed. The winning team is to hold for one year the W. B. Bennett Memorial Shield, presented by Mr. W. H. Bennett in memory of his son. A gold medal will be given to the winning toam of four.
