"RUDD'S NEW SELECTION."
Picture -.patrons*; at. the Empress Tke-atie-will meet some old and■ delightful' friends yfor ad© week continuously, commencing on Friday next, at 11 "a.m., iii the members of the Rudd family,- -who; this time, will be "introduced through "Rudid's New Selection," another E. J. and Dan Cbrroll ■' production. The management claim that the • companion picture to "On Our Selection" is a tru« and faithful reflex of the popular Australian'novels, and the characters faithfully conceive Steek Eudd'e. . creation. The Rudds' social circumstances have changed a good deal since they were saeii on the famous selection, but* Dad', andi Mum, and .all the rest of them are still delightful characters. -The story has been preserved in its entirety,' and presented in all its humour and pathos. .Essentially it is ah Australian picture in every phase ' c-f production. It was directed by Mr. Raymond Longford, who, it will be conceded, was eminently; successful in assembling a capable cast to do justice to the film. Other factors that have made for the success of the film are a happy choice of backgrounds, excellent photography,- and particularlyfunny sub-titlas.
