PALMERSTON X, 10th May. At a meeting of the Manawatu Gorgo Road Board of Control it'was decided to again placo before the Government tho desirability of granting tho.-board permission to placo toll gates on the road. It was explained that it was not proposed to advocate toll gates all over tho country, and that a separate Bill would have to be introduced in tho House referring only to tho Mana.watu Gorge-road. ' Tho general meeting of members of the Manawatu Agricultural and Paatorivl Association carried a motion , as follows: "That tho time has arrived in tho interests of stock breeders in Now Zealand, when a Royal or Championship Show should bo held alternately in the North and South Islands, and that tho Minister oi Agriculture ho requested to give effect to the resolution carried at the last meeting of tho New Zealand Council of Agriculture, when it confirmed such a proposal."
