TWO NEW COUNCILLORS.

Mr. F. H. Mather was re-elected unopposed 'Mayor of Eastbourne. There were ten candidates for eight vacancies on the council, and, the result of the voting was as follows:— Shortt, W. H 385 Bennett, W. H. G 374 Hartridge, Cecil 354 Pilcher, T. W 353 Green, C. L 323 Giles, T. H 314 Marquis, C. W 308 M'Gill, Hugh :. 385 B-iine, William 261 Fisher, S. F 120 Of the old councillors' Messrs. Baine and Fisher were defeated. The new councillors are Messrs. Hartridge and I M'Gill.
