RECOGNITION EXPECTED
AMALGAMATION WITH CONSTANTINOPLE.
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COMBKMT.) (rhUteh's telegram.) CONSTANTINOPLE, 15th April. The chief obstacle to the official amalgamation of the Governments of Angora and Constantinople appears to be removed. It is announced that the Sultan; who hitherto declined to entertain the idea of a compromise with the Kemalists, has now contributed 10,000 liraa to the Red Crescent Fund, aad lias ordered prayers in the mosques for the soldiers who have fallen in Anatolia.
The recognition of^-the Angora National Assembly is now expected.
