At a largely-attended meeting of sheepfarmera at Napier it was decided that a general reduction in wages for farm and station hands should be brought about, and the following scale was agreed on :—Crutchers, 4s per 100; shed hands, Is per hour; shepherds, 30s per week; drovers, 15s to 20s per day; station cooks, 30s to 40s per week; cowboys, 20s to 25s per week; ploughmen, 40s per week; station hands, 25s per week; married coupjes, £80 to £100 per annum; casual labour, Is per hour; harvesters, Is 3d per hour. The annual big ijun practice of No. 9 Company, N.Z.G.A., under command of Major V. P. Haughtoh, was' held on Saturday afternoon, in perfect weather. The v twelve-pounders and the 6in guns were both, in action, and some good hits were registered. Messrs. Harcourt and Co.'s' sale of furniture at 274, Adolaido-road, on Thursday next will oommenciS at 1.30 p.m., not 2 p.m., m advertised in Saturday's issue.
