MAGISTRATES COURT
Police cases '-were dealt with at th« Magistrate's Court to-day by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M. Two first-offending inebriates were dealt with in the usual manner. George Harley, who had two previous convictions against him, was fined £1 or three days' detention. John Madden, who had offend ed four times previously, was similarly dealt with.
For engaging in a free fight on Lamb-ton-quay, Frederick Henry Banks and Patrick Guider were each fined £1 and oosta.
The use of bbscen<! language cost George Seymour, a seaman, 40s. On a cha.'ge of being a rogue and vagabond, in that he was found by night on premises owned by the -Victoijia Laundry Co., Peter Henry Greig,« whose explanation was that he had been unable to secure lodgings, was. convicted and discharged.
Herbert H. Peirce, charged with the tT.oft of a motor-cycle, valued at £135, the property of Louis Spiro, was jemandod until 22nd April.. Bail was allowed in the sum of £50, with ono surety of £50. Mr. W. Perry appeared for Pearce. A youth named Castral M, A. Gay, for whom Mr. W. E. Leicester appeared, was charged with the theft at Wellington of cutlery and spoon 6, valued at £3 8s 6d, and the property of the Palace Co., Ltd. Gay was remanded until 26th April, bail being allowed in the sum of £20.
