• "Anything that can be done to obtain better working conditions on the waterfront should be done, and this is ;i scheme which should be triad," re--1 marked the Chairman of the Wanganui Harbour Board when the proposed cooperative scheme of work on the waterfront came up for discussion. The particular point under consideration was whether the matter was important enough to warrant a meeting of tile executive of the Harbour Association and a subseqiient conference of the members of the association. The Chairman said that he considered it was sufficiently important to warrant a conference. "It is time something was done and that quickly," remarked Captain Holm. Messrs.
