• . STEAMERS' MOVEMENTS. CEY TS'-aGKAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) DNEDIN, 17th January. Arrived—Tutanekai (8.35 a.m.), from Westport. She sails to-morrow raorniog for the Campbell and other Islands to search for-pos-sible castaways. The Koromiko loads at Newcastle and Sydney this week for Dunedin, Tiraaru, and Lyttelton. The British India steamer Sealda, from Calcutta, leaves Brisbane on ' Wednesday for Auckland, VVellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She is due at Auckland on the 2dth January. The steamer Clauses, from Calcutta and Singapore, 'la dun at Newcastle to-morrow. She sails on Wednesday for Auckland, whero she i* due on the 26tb January. The wbols of her czrao will lie discharged at Auckland, and the southern transhipments forwarded by coastal steamer.

MANUKA IN PORT.

Tlio Udiou Company's Intercolonial Eteamer Mauuka, with "100 passengers ai toird, arrived in the. stream at Wellington at 3 o'clock tnis afternoon from Sydney direct. She will ber.th at No. 1 north. Queen's Wharf, towards 5 o'clock to disembark her passengers. The Manuka will leave Wellington nt 5 p.m.. tomorrow for Lyttelton to discharee the southern portion of her cargo. Returning to Wellington on Thursday morning she. will sail at noon the fame day on the return trip to Sydney and Hobart.

RUAHINE'S ARRIVAL.

A further advicC from the Ruahine, en route from Southampton, states that the vessel expects to • arrive in the stream at Wellington at 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

The Shaw-Savill liner Pakeha', which ' arrived at Wellington yesterday morning from London and Southampton to land North Island passengers, will sail this afternoon for. Lyttelton to commence the- discharge' of her'cargo. She will afterwards proceed toTitnaru. . A type of watercraffc new to Auckland has been built at Kobiniaranis. for the Kawau "Island Development Company, and private trials have been made during the last few days with satisfactory results. This is the "seasled" boat, the construction of which is designed to make the vessel travel. on the surface of the watar when speed is developed. The sea-sled built for the company is a small type, to carry 16 or 13 passengers. ' It is 22ft long, ond is driven by two 100-h.p. engines, and is said to attain a speed of 40 miles an hour. The company contemplates the provision of two large boats, each carrying 150 passengers, for an express service between Auckland and-Kawau.
