At, the annual meeting of shareholders of the Wellington Farmers' Meat Company, held in Masterton on Wednesday, the chairman of directors sai3 it had been suggested that tho dividend on shares be inoreased to 7j per cent. He pointed out, however, that the directors had preferred to consolidate .the works, and'to expend surplus capital in providing now branches to tho'industry, such as woollen mills, etc.

A committee is being appointed in Masterton to advise the Wellington Citizens' Committee that is co-operating with the Department as to the goods that axo most urgently required. . * ■

At the annual meeting' of the Mastertoil Park Bowling' Club, Mr. H. Webb was elected president for the ensuing year. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £12 18s lOd. _ The delegates were instructed to vote in favour of the Booth Cup and iDuthio Shield being played for in one section.
