SUNDAY SCHOOL UNION
The council of the Sunday School Union met last evening, Mr. Arthur Hoby presiding over a largo attendance of delegates. Mr. Ales Johnston reported on the Youth Workers' Institute to be held in September under the auspices of the union and the City Bible Classes. The ■sub-committee appointed to consider the suggestions of the Auckland Union in regard to an association of Sunday School Unions reported, suggesting tl»at the Auckland Union's proposals be accepted with slight modifications. It is expected that the matter will be pushed forward at an early date and active work begun. It was announced that the results of the scholars' examination would be available in a few days. The examiners, it was stated, decided to cancel one question in the lowest grade, and to base the marks on the remaining nine. In regard to one question in grade 2, considered somewhat outside the text o£ the lessons, it had been decided to count full marks if the scholar showed a knowledge of what was actually in the text. Mr. Howe, the organiser, asked that any spare books suitable for country school libraries should be sent to him. Mr. Alex. Johnston was appointed acting secretary during the absence o£ the secretary,
