CANARY AND CAGE BIRD CLUB
The Wellington Canary and Cage Bird Club and the Wellington Breeders and Exhibition Cat Club held an enjoyable gathering in Dustin's Booms, Cubastreet, last evening, when, club trophies won at the r.ecenf show were presented as follow: —Canaries and cage birds, Messrs. Bailey, Skinner, Lambert, Blackie, Galvin, Bullen, Airth., Mitchell, Abel, Fearn, Roxburgh. Cats: Mrs. Bushby won the Lloyd Cup, Coltman Cup, special, Grady's Cup, and gold medal; Mrs. Winter, Miss Brown's and two olub specials; Mrs. Round, Mrs. Winter's special; Miss Hopkins, Mr. Lloyd's trophy; Mr. E. Cook, Mr. Day's special ; Mrs. Moxham, Goer's special, Sim's trophy, Archer's trophy; Mrs. Peterson,, Mr. Kelly's trophy and £3 3s bracelet; Mr. Cook, Mr. Kelly's rosebowl; Madame Mueller, Bushby's special; Mrs, Bernasconi, Mr. Mason's special; Mrs. New, Mrs. Melply's special.
Mr. Gallichan, president of the Canary Club, who occupied the chair, presented the trophies in conjunction with Mr. Airth, president of the Cat Club. The evening was spent in music, song, and story, items being rendered by the following : Misses Dowling, Bushby, Gawler, Hodgson, Plan, Archibald/ O'Leary, Mesdames Harris r Willis, Hill-Beckett, and Messrs. Foglia, Gilner, Oswin. Misses Paul and Gawler were the accompanists.
