LABOUR CHARTER
THE MEETING AT WASHINGTON
DEMAND BY TRADES UNION
CONGRESS.

AMSTERDAM, sth August. The International Trades Union Congress has concluded, ' A motion was carried that the International Union refuse to participate in the World Labour Conference at Washington in October, to be held in accordance with the Labour charter of the Peace Treaty, imless trade union representatives of all countries are admitted without exception and recognised as Labour representatives.' Other motions carried urged the early termination of the blockade against Russia and Hungary; and that an investigation be made of the tirade union movement in Russia.
Further motions favoured socialisation as a means of production, and, one declared that the League of Nations should have .legislative as well as judicial power.
