QUEEN'S THEATRE.
The portrayal of a woman's struggle for happiness against fearful odds shows Jewel Carmen at her best in "The Bride of Fear" at the Queen's Theatre. _ Miss Carmen is seen as a girl air alone in the city, who, overcome by despair, attempts suicide. She is frustrated in her purpose by a crook, who persuades her to marry him. She does, but on their marriage night he is taken to prison by detectives. Years later, after she- had learned to love the son of a- wealthy man, her husband appears. Confronted by this terrible problem, she solves it in a most unexpected manner.
