SERVICE TO THE DAIRYMAN.

A Reliable Milker. This Dominion is making history fast, and in nothing more so than in its dairy industry. It is here that the Gane Milking Machine Company. have rendered a, great service to the farming community of New Zealand generally. The Gane was first devised in November of I^o9, and* during the ten years it has been on the market it has undergone many improvements, until to-day it is undoubtedly the foremost milker on the market, and the most universally used, and most popular and satisfactory for either large or small herds. It is interesting to note that the company have supplied the largest, installation in Australasia, ono that is now milking over one thousand cows, and giving complete satisfaction. They have also installed the largest single-unit plant in New Zealand, which is a twelve-cow releaser plant. The same company. sold recently a two-cow plant to milk nine cows, thus showing the high satisfaction the Gane milker gives to those in the dairying industry. The releaser is semiautomatic and absolutely fool-proof. So long as: the vacuum is! existent in the system so long will the releaser be efficient, and work independent of all else. It is built of copper, heavily plated, and will never rust. The Gane Company were the pioneers of the releaser system, being the first firm to place them on the market. The advantage gained then has been maintained ever since, and they have spent thousands of pounds in patent rights to maintain the lead, which has been kept against all comers. The Gane double-acting palsator is yet another result of this firm's enterprise. It is silent, effective, sjid down to the irreducible minimum of moving parts. There is none of that delicate metalwork mechanism about the machine, which has stood the test of almost universal service for the past ten years. The addition of a new idea on the puL sator has made a distinct improvement to the whole system. The new universal teat cup with which the Gane is equipped, is a very simple and effective device, only four pieces being necessary to complete the cup. The cup. case is of the very best aluminium, beautifully cast, and nicely finished. It ( undoubtedly is the most sanitary ever invented, -and extremely simple and easy to assemble. The firm also specialises in the Twigg engine, a fool-proof ongine with all complications: cut out, and one that runs on benzine, distillate, or kerosene—a valuable feature indeed in these days of benzine shortage. By the simplest of contrivances this fine little engine of 4j h.p. supplies abundance of hot water for washing-up purposes. It is specially noted for its low fuel consumption and its ease of access. Mr. Miller, the Palmerston North branch manager, and other assistants are present at the Show and will gladly explain every pert of the plant, and give those contemplating the installation of a milker ocular demonstration of the Gane's superiority over all others.
