AN INCREASING POPULAR
DIVISION
Among the various sections which have assumed, or are assuming, a national character, the fruit section stands out prominently. Why was fruit introduced among the attractions at a dairy show? Such a question has been repeatedly asked. In the first place, it must be admitted that the term dairy show is a mis nomer; in the second place the answer is : Fruit.was introduced in accordance with policy to widen the sphere of interest. The inclusion was justified. Not very,long ago the writer was advised by a fruit grower to go to Palmerston North if he wanted to see a really good show of apples.
