SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY

Miss V. Mueller was hostess at the Sailors' Friend Society last evening, when she and her performers gave a pleasing time to an appreciative audience. Those who contritated were Mesdames Mueller and Cox, Misses Troon, Griffiths, Weston, M'Donald, and V. Mueller, and Messrs. Oswin and Culverwell. Mrs. Cox and Miss M'Donald were at the piano. Mr. Moore, miEsioner, was in the chair. He took for his temperance" subject "Scandal," and asked whether anything too harsh could1 be said of drink? Pledges followed. The competition prizes were sent by the hostess, and were won by men from the^Kia Ora and others.
