PANIC ON A STEAMER
(AUSTRALIA!! NET ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) COLOMBO, 29th May. The steamer Admiral Ponty has arrived here. A fire broke out in tlie Suez Canal. Many of the passengers, fearing that the whole ship would catch fire, jumped overboard and were drowned. Altogether a hundred lives were lost.
