(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPIRIOHT.)
(AUSTRALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CAI3LF! ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, 28th May. During the discussion on Sir John M'Call's paper at the Society of Arts,* Sir Thomas Mackenzie (High Commissioner for New Zealand) condemned the exploitation of woollen goods in Britain, where the price of goods was fourfold the pre-war price, whereas New Zealand was only charging- 55 per cent, over the pre-war price for^wool. Sir Thomas Mackenzie pointed out that America was selling tweeds at 3s per yard under the English price, though the American manufacturer paid much more than the English for wool. The British Government was the. only authority able to successfully investigate the matter.
