LAUNCH CAPSIZES
A MAN MISSING.
(IT TRLEORAPH.—PRESS ASSOCUTION.)
• WHAKATANE, This Dayl A launch bound from Whale Island to Whakatane capsized while entering the boat channel at Whakatane Heads last evening, and Philip Orchard, contractor for stone from the island for the Whakatane harbour works, is missing. He is believed to have been drowned.
Five Natives who were also on board reached the shore. There was heavy easterly weather at the time, with high seas; The launch is about 24ft long.
