MELBOURNE HEALTH BOARD
ANGRY
(Received February 13, 11 a.m.)
. MELBOURNE, This Day. There are 170 new influenza cases, 34 deaths have occurred. A meeting of the Board of Health expressed indignation at the manner in which the board was treated by the Government, alleging that the body was not consulted in any way in reference to the measures to prevent the influenza. Although the death-rate was only 25 per cent, above the average, Melbourne was panic-stricken.
MELBOURNE, 12th February. Twenty deaths were reported and 43 cases were admitted to hospital to-day. It is believed that the figures do not represent the true position, as many cases are not reported.
