TRAM TRAFFIC
10 TIE IDIrOR.
Sir,-—Can I through the medium of your paper say a few words about the tram service to Island Bay? On Tuesday, night, the 11th inst., I stood at Courtenay-place from 5 to 6 o'clock before I could get on a car. Every ,Island Bay car that came in from town was packed to overflowing. There was a great crowd waiting, and they just had to stand and see the car continue its journey About 5.30 along came a car with "Courtenay-place" on. , .'_Jovr, thought I, they will surely change this to Island Bay and get the crowd away; but no, away it went back to 'Lambton Station with three passengers in it. After another long wait the directors of traffic turned, back a "single-decker"1 for Berhampore and the crowd gotnp smaller. Now, I suggest to the traffic managers that between 5 and 6 o'clock (fhe busiest time) double-deckers should start from Courtenay-place and run to Island Bay, not Berhampore only, as there are always a great number of people waiting at Courtenay-place who have no chance to get on the cars when they are packed on arrival at Courtenay-place.—l.am, etc.,
BETTER SERVICE.
