PAHIATUA, 30th January. At the Pahiatua Racing Club's annual meeting the totalisator takings amounted to £17,238, as compared, with £16,081 last year. Concluding results : — Makuri Hack, of 115 soys; five furlongs.—l Samarang, 8.4 (Kain); 1; 5 Restful, 7.0, 2; 3 Zabism, 8.3, 3. Also started—4 Gold Problem 8.8, 6 Stutter 7.7, 7 Warscot 7.5, 9 Gotha 7.0, 8 Queen Carnival 7.0, and 2 Astinome 7.0. Won by a length, a neck between second and third. Time, lmin 3 l-58ec
Konini Hack, of 115 soys; seven furlongs.—! Penury Rose, 8.7 (Corlett), 1; 10 The Speaker, 7.7, 2; 2 Papanui, 7.9, 3. Also started —4 Momac 9.6, 6 Transmission 7.13, 8 Mystified 7.13, 3 Esperance 7.10, 8 Warawee 7.9, 7 Probity 7.9, 9 Greta 7.7, and 11 Evening Glow 7.2. Won by a length and a-half, a length between BecondT and third. Time, lmin 30 2-ssec.
Telephone Handicap, of 175 sove_; six furlongs.—7 Trentham Rose, 7.12 (Emerson), 1; 2 Crowhurst, 8.13, 2; 1 Ahika, 7.5, 3. Also started—4 Lady General 8.13, 5 Astor 7.11, 3 Jean Laddo 7.11, and 6 Idle Talk 7.9. Won by two lengths; same distance between second and third. Time, lmin 16 l-ssec.
Welter Hack, of 115 soys; seven furlongs.—l Red Signal, 9.0 (Gray), 1; 3 Battle Array, 8.2, 2; 2La Pucelle, 8.2,3. Also started—7 St. Omer 9.9, 10 Bayswater 8.8, 4 Willys Knight 8.4, 6 Papanui 8.4, 8 Sarbonite 8.0, 9 Naughty Girl 8.0, 14 Recreation 8.0, 13 Wakatere 8.0, 12 Royal Battery 8.0,11 Preface 8.0, and 13 G-lentour 8.0. Won by a length ; half a length between second and third. Glentour got out of the course and did not run.
