It has transpired that the price paid to the, Lloyd family for the London Daily Chronicle and'liloyd's Weekly was . over 1£ millions sterling. The purchasing syndicate include Sir Henry Dalzie* M.P. (at the head), Mr. Andrew Weir (the millionaire shipowner, who is a member of the British Army Council), and Sir Howard Spicer (of the wellknown London paper-making firm). On the deal being completed, Mr. Robert Donald, the able editor of the Chronicle, resigned his position. Tho drawing of the art union of pic- ; tures in connection with the recent Italian Red Cross appeal took place in the Town Hall last ©voning. The result is announced in tiuother column.
