The Brooklyn Miniature Rifle Club held its quarterly competition finals last evening, the Rev. Mr. Dent presiding over a good attendance. The trophies were awarded as follow:— first monthly competition, A Class, i A.> Paterson; B Class, E. Hill. Second monthly competition, A Class, A. Jackson; B Class, D. Alabaster. Third monthly competition, A Class, G. Spehcer; B Class, J. Allen. B Class Cup; E. B. S. Hill; Handicap Cup, G. Spencer; "Points" Cup, E. B. S. Hill; Perkins Cup and Daily Express Medal, W. Webb ; Christmas competition, W. Bamsay 1, A. Hobson 2, J. Baasett 3, J. M'Crono 4.
At a Russian Tribunal in London recently a man, aged 31, a manufacturer of leather goods, said that he started business in his own name before the war with a capital of £300, and in 1914 formed a company with a capital of £20,000, in which he and his wife held all the shares. Before the' war the business greatly increased owing to his capturing German trade, and after the war he continued to capture German trade, and had kept it, with the result that the turnover now stood at between £40,000 and £30,000,
