THE HOLIDAY RUSH
Whan the Mapourika sailed for Picton at 10.30 this morning she had some 400 passengers on board, the majority of whom were apparently going on holiday. The steamer was making a special daylight trip in order to cope with the holiday rush, and a special permit to carry over 500 passengers had been obtained. The Maori, which :8 sailing for Lytteltori to-nigbf>,* will carry her full complement of passengers, and the two ferry steamers to-morrow —Mararoa, and Monowai—have also been fully booked. As has been previously stated, tli'e two Anchor boats Nikati and Kaitoa, for Nelson, have been fully booked until after Christmas. .<
