Whan the Mapourika sailed for Picton at 10.30 this morning she had some 400 passengers on board, the majority of whom were apparently going on holiday. The steamer was making a special daylight trip in order to cope with the holiday rush, and a special permit to carry over 500 passengers had been obtained.
